Arda Guler, a midfielder for Real Madrid, has resumed training in an attempt to make his Los Blancos first team debut.

AHEAD OF TIME? After missing time due to injury following his summer transfer from Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce for £17 million ($21 million), the 18-year-old has resumed first team training with Real Madrid, per SPORT.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: The Turkish international has not yet made his Madrid debut after sustaining a meniscus and muscle injury shortly after joining Carlo Ancelotti’s club. As a result, he was left out of their preseason roster.

WHAT IS GULER’S NEXT? In order to prepare for his comeback, the athlete was working on his conditioning away from the rest of the team. Working with the ball will probably be Guler’s next step as he nears his recovery from several setbacks related to injuries.
