Ruben Amorim, the new manager of Manchester United, is living in a fancy hotel that stars like Rita Ora and Lady Gaga have stayed at before.
Amorim stays at the five-star Lowry in Salford, Greater Manchester. It’s not far from there to Old Trafford, where Manchester United plays.
The Portuguese coach was taken from there in the early hours of the morning in a black people carrier to the Carrington training ground of the Premier League giant.
The Portuguese friend and teammate, Jose Mourinho, stayed in the fancy hotel for an amazing 895 days when he was United boss. The 39-year-old is now there too.
But it’s not expected that Amorim will spend £500,000 like The Special One did.
He may have already started looking for a home in Manchester so that he can bring his wife Maria João Diogo and their two kids with him.
A United source said, “Amorim wants to bring his family over and make their own home.”
“The Hale and Bowdon area has been brought up as a place where his captain Fernandez and a lot of the players live.” The place where they train is only a short drive away.
“He could move into Paul Pogba’s or Ten Haag’s old place.” He is in the Lowry right now, though. He’s taken a few walks around the city and had coffee in a few places.
“He might meet Pep Guardiola or some City players who live nearby,” the source said.
The Lowry is on the line between Salford and Manchester. It only takes a few minutes to walk into the city from there.
There is also the Presidential Suite, which costs £4,000 a night and is the most expensive hotel room in Greater Manchester.
Ariana Grande, Kylie Minogue, Alesha Dixon, and Take That are just a few of the famous people who love it.
In fact, the hotel was the first in the UK to offer guests facial spa services in their rooms.
United books a lot of rooms at the Lowry, which has 165 rooms. Five to ten rooms are blocked off the night before every home game.
Every player has their own double, and that’s also where United managers often hold team talks.
Louis Van Gaal, the former manager, talked to his players there for so long that club officials would often search the hotel for listening devices.
On Sunday afternoon, Amorim’s first game ended in a 1-1 tie with Ipswich Town.
Marcus Rashford scored his fifth goal of the season just 80 seconds after the game started at Portman Road, giving his team a great start.
But they were pushed back after Omari’s Hutchinson scored a great equalizer in the top corner.
Ed Sheeran, an Ipswich fan who was on the field after the draw, awkwardly cut in during his first post-game interview as head coach with Sky Sports.
The pop star walked over to talk show host Jamie Redknapp and told him, “I don’t think he wants to talk to me.”
It didn’t please the new United head coach, who shook his head. Sheeran then said, “I love being back in the Premier League.”
