ROY KEANE slammed Andre Onana for giving up the first goal for Manchester United against Tottenham, saying, “I’d be losing it!”
United was held back twice by Spurs at Old Trafford on Sunday, in a thrilling 2-2 tie. Keane did not hold back.
The Red Devils quickly took the lead when Rasmus Hojlund scored in the third minute.
The score was tied, though, when Richarlison scored from a corner kick in the 19th minute.
He was free in the box when he hit the ball into the top part of United’s net.
Onana tried to stop it, but he couldn’t get to the ball.
But Keane thinks the Cameroon goalkeeper could have done a lot better.
United great Keane said on Sky Sports during the half-time break that Onana shouldn’t have been in the way of Spurs’ set piece.
He thinks the goalie would have done better if he had stood farther away to “control” his six-yard box.
Keane also said that if Onana had been out there playing, he would have been furious with his choice.
“Set pieces United aren’t great at, they had a warning earlier,” the tough Irishman yelled.
“That was a beautiful touch. There were a lot of bodies there, and any touch that close to the goal is important.”
“I’d be mad at my goalkeeper; it’s an in-swinger, and Spurs deserved it.”
“Onana’s line is not where I want it to be.” He should come over and take charge of the six-yard box.
