Scott McTominay picks 3 WORLD-CLASS stars in Man Utd’s victory over Chelsea

Scott McTominay believes that three Manchester United players were ‘world class’ against Chelsea in the 2-1 victory over the Blues.

It was two goals from Scott McTominay that won the game for Manchester United at Old Trafford with the Scottish midfielder denying Chelsea a point after Cole Palmer had equalised in the first half.

The Red Devils came out swinging after suffering such a depressing and dull loss to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park. If McTominay had been more clinical, the 26-year-old might have scored three goals for United against a subpar Chelsea team.

Erik ten Hag’s team gave a great performance from all 11 players on the field, and the outcome will undoubtedly give them a lot of momentum.

In an interview with Amazon Prime following the game, McTominay named three United players he thought were elite on a crucial night for the Red Devils.

When the midfielder was asked about his goalscoring exploits, with his two goals taking him to six for the season in all competitions, he singled out three men in particular.

“I am delighted to score two goals but I have to give credit to all the boys,” the Scottish midfielder began. “Antony, (Harry) Maguire, Bruno (Fernandes), I can give you a list of players who were absolutely world-class tonight.”

It’s hard to argue with the Scottish midfielder and there could well be three or four more names to add to that list for the Red Devils.

Things were looking bleak for the Red Devils following their dismal defeat to Newcastle United but a dogged and determined win over Chelsea has eased the pressure on the Dutchman.

Following the loss to the Geordie team, Bruno Fernandes in particular gave the Red Devils a true captain’s performance.

After the Red Devils’ match against Mauricio Pochettino’s team, any doubts over the players’ allegiance to Ten Hag would have been dispelled.

The Red Devils’ next few weeks will be crucial as they take on formidable opponents like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Aston Villa—who just defeated Pep Guardiola’s team 1-0 to go ahead of Manchester City.
