A football player in the Premier League, Scott McTominay, talked about how hard they have to work out in the gym.
The big 6ft 3in player has done well so far this season for Man United. In the Premier League, he has scored five goals. Two of them helped United beat Chelsea 2-1 at the start of December.
McTominay posted a picture of his toned body on Instagram in 2022, after working out late at night before the 2022–23 season started.
Right now, the 27-year-old has talked about how much his body changed. He said that Paul Pogba, a former friend at Manchester United, had told him to get stronger.
“People would be shocked if they knew how hard players work in the gym and how intense you have to be to push yourself to reach those goals,” the Scotland international told FourFourTwo.
“My body has changed in the past seven years.” When I was 17 or 18, I weighed 70 kg and stood 6 feet 3 inches tall. I weigh 85 kg now.
“A lot of work went into getting stronger.”I was told by Paul Pogba, “When you get to 23, you’ll get stronger.” When it didn’t happen, I asked myself, “Where is it then?”
Because he works out so much, Erik ten Hag may have moved him up in the team’s leadership. After 16 Premier League games so far this season, the defender has started 12 of them.
To give you some background, McTominay played 24 times for United last season, but the Dutch boss only started him 10 times. It was said that he was in talks to move to West Ham in the summer to play more.
He was also captain of United when they played Liverpool and didn’t score at Anfield because Bruno Fernandes was not allowed to play.
This season, McTominay has been praised for his play. He said, “I’m lucky because I’ve always loved going to the gym.” Small wins are fun for me, and I’m good at having them.
“What I eat and how much sleep are the same.” I’m proud of how focused I am.
