Eagle-eyed spectators watched in disbelief as Rasmus Hojlund lost it with Alejandro Garnacho, his Manchester United teammate.
The event happened in the latter stages of Sunday’s FA Cup fourth round match, when the Red Devils narrowly defeated Newport County.
During Manchester United’s victory at Newport, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund were seen fighting.
Hojlund (circled) voiced his opinions to Garnacho (far left).
After their League Two hosts tied the score in the second half, United let up a two-goal advantage.
Late in the game, Antony’s goal—his first of the season—finally put United ahead, and Hojlund’s fourth goal in injury time sealed the triumph.
Ten minutes prior to his score, though, the Dane was seen fighting with a teammate.
With ample time to select a pass for Hojlund, winger Garnacho surged up the left flank.
Rather than cutting back inside, the Argentina star dribbled inside Newport’s box.
Unfortunately, Garnacho struck an oncoming opponent squarely in the face.
And Hojlund, who was waiting at the near post, got quite angry as the ball was rightfully kicked out of play.
The striker was seen gesturing with his arms and then yelling angrily at Garnacho.
The fact that Garnacho did not pass the ball to the striker infuriated him.
And in the aftermath, supporters took to social media to make sure their voices were heard.
“I feel bad for Hojlund, his wingers thought they were the best Messi and Ronaldo,” one person remarked.
One more said, “Garnacho is too self-centered.”
“Was that Hojlund screaming at Garnacho?” someone asked. Inform him, dude!
“Our wingers are starving my striker,” another person said.
