Sofyan Amrabat received criticism from former Manchester United goalie Peter Schmeichel for his lackluster performance yesterday against Crystal Palace.
Amrabat, a recent loanee from Fiorentina to Manchester United, committed a sloppy error in conceding the foul that led to Crystal Palace’s game-winning goal at Old Trafford, and Schmeichel isn’t happy about it.

The Eagles lost to the Red Devils 3-0 in the Carabao Cup over the middle of the week, but they responded well by winning 1-0 in their league match yesterday.
Amrabat was certainly far from the only player to blame for this disappointing result, but Schmeichel singled him out as someone who wasn’t having a great game.

Speaking during coverage for Premier League Productions, as quoted by the Metro, the former Denmark international discussed Amrabat’s sloppy display and costly foul for what proved to be the winning goal, saying: “We talked about Amrabat before the game, it is first full Premier League game and he has just not had a great game so far.
“He gives a silly foul away which leads to this free kick.
“I expected a Danish player [United striker Rasmus Hojlund] to score at the other end today but for Joachim Anderson to hit the ball like that, what a fantastic goal.”

The legendary Red Devils goalkeeper rejected the idea that Andre Onana should have done better on that goal:
“We can talk about whether the goalkeeper should have done better or not, Should the defense do better? But you just have to enjoy it, it was a great finish.”
