Nike unveiled their new Mercurial shoes this past weekend at a presentation event in Paris featuring Wayne Rooney of Manchester United and Jadon Sancho of England.
Nike staged another significant event in Paris in conjunction with the release of the Mercurial Superfly 7 and Vapour 13 “New Lights” and “Under The Radar” models. These boots will be used for the first time on Sunday for the Women’s World Cup Final in Lyon, which is located further south. To celebrate the beginning of a new era for Nike speed, quick athletes from the USA and Holland will be wearing the blue “New Lights” drop. But prior to that, the Swoosh made an odd move with a hit song from Paris.
Both the men’s and women’s football competitions featured international players and featured fast-paced play on a blue pitch. The Mercurial was being transported by drone through Paris’s lovely Nanterre neighborhood. It was a fantastic way to wrap up one season and start another. Prior to discussing the workings of the new Mercurial project, Jadon Sancho, Andressa Alves of Brazil, and Caroline Graham of Norway were practicing on the field.

Watch out for in-depth chats with the Nike design team where they talk about how they made the next Mercurial and the problems they had to solve. An interview with Jadon Sancho will also be shown. He will talk about his bigger part at Nike in the next generation of shoes, his great 2018–19 season, and what’s next for the England and Dortmund player. Also, the first Mercurial moves are still going on. One of the limited drops is coming out tomorrow, July 8.
