Andre Onana hasn’t had the best of starts to life at Manchester United but fans adored his crucial save to deny Erling Haaland.

During first-half stoppage-time, the goalkeeper pulled off a stunning save to prevent the Norwegian from doubling Manchester City’s lead.

United fans loved what they saw from their goalkeeper

Haaland had the goal at his mercy from Bernardo Silva’s cross but Onana was there to track back and keep United in the game.

City’s superstar striker scored a penalty earlier on and he probably should have netted a second.

However, United’s goalkeeper showed his class at a crucial moment and fans loved what they saw.

“Onana is really the man,” one said on X despite his shortcomings in between the sticks this season.

A second added: “This guy found his confidence, could’ve been 0-3 already.”

“That’s one of the best save I’ve ever witnessed in my life,” said a third as the two sides went into the break.

A fourth said: “Onana is world class. Champions league final Onana has arrived.”

Unfortunately for Onana, Haaland was able to find the back of the net again 

Onana’s performances for United have come under scrutiny for much of the season having conceded 20 goals prior to the derby.

His save just before half-time was one of his best yet, but Haaland got the better of him early in the second half.

The City star scored the second goal, making it 2-0, after going unmarked all the way to the back post and heading past Onana.

In a commanding victory at Old Trafford, Haaland then provided the assist for Phil Foden’s third and final goal late in the game.
