Rodrygo of Real Madrid went on offensive to hide the Selecao’s terrible performance.
Rodrygo demonstrated his potential, but in a Copa America warm-up friendly, Brazil was disappointing, drawing 1-1 with the USMNT.
While scoring the lone goal for the Selecao, the Real Madrid player concealed the slack play around him, which was most noticeable in the absence of cutting edge when Endrick was on the bench.
Within five minutes, Yunus Musah sent his shot over the bar, giving the USMNT their best opportunity early on. But Rodrygo’s shot into the bottom corner behind the home team’s defence started the scoring.
Christian Pulisic, though, answered for the USMNT with a straight free kick into the bottom corner. Brazil produced more after the interval. Acrobatic bicycle kick by Rodrygo went wide of the post. Endrick raced towards goal and almost scored seconds after he entered the game. Pulisic had a chance to make it 2-1, but he blasted from ten metres straight at the goalie.
Soon after, Rodrygo struck his man again and Turner denied him a decent retaliation. And the USMNT held out Brazil in the face of intense pressure, the visitors settling for a slightly disappointing draw in their last warm-up match for Copa America.
