Suarez has reached a preliminary agreement with Inter Miami – the contract runs until December 2024 with an option to extend for another year

It’s possible that Inter Miami will be able to sign Luis Suarez before 2024.

El Pais claimed on Wednesday that the Gremio striker could join former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets in the MLS in a deal that could be finalized in December.

Suarez, 36, said that the MLS team called his club in Porto Alegre in the middle of the year. According to the most recent story, emails have been sent back and forth between Miami and Gremio about a one-year deal for Suarez that could be extended. Suarez is planning to go to Miami in December to talk with the club about his deal.

The Herons have already let go of star forward Josef Martinez to make room on the squad for Suarez. Suarez is having a lot of success in Brazil, even though he has problems with his knee.

The player who won the Premier League Golden Boot in the past joined Gremio in December 2022 and has scored 17 goals in 37 games. A lot of things could happen with Suarez until the end of the year, said Alberto Guerra, president of Gremio.

“The search for classification (a la Libertadores) is very important to us.” We will talk with Suárez when the time is right and if the chance comes up.

“Of course we want him to stay, but the most recent news is that he will be leaving at the end of the year.”

Even though it doesn’t look like Suarez will be staying with Gremio for long, he thanked the club and its fans.

Suarez said, “I promised the club I would try to play as many games as I can. It’s my way of thanking them for their hard work.” After games, Renato told me not to go to training for a few days so I could rest, but I did because I was 100% committed to the club.

From 2014 to 2020, Suarez scored 198 goals for Barcelona. Suarez was a key part of Barcelona’s five-trophy season in 2015, a year after moving from Liverpool to Barcelona.

Messi signed a record-breaking deal with Inter Miami in 2023, which made room for Alba and Busquets to join. Their team didn’t make it to the MLS Playoffs, but Messi helped them win the Leagues Cup and make it to the US Open Cup final.
