The Liverpool forward scored from close range three minutes into the second half of his team’s friendly match against Croatia. He had entered from the bench.

Jota’s second goal in as many Euro 2024 warm-up matches negated Luka Modric’s early penalty, even though Croatia went on to win 2-1.Meanwhile, Dominik Szoboszlai scored three goals at home to lead Hungary to a victory over Israel.

The Reds midfield player was substituted just before the hour mark, but he subsequently clarified that his absence was merely a precautionary measure considering his team’s European Championship opener is just one week away.

“I’ll be alright,” Szoboszlai assured M4 Sport. My legs were a little stiff, and I didn’t want to take any chances, so I took off.
