Real Madrid’s Rodrygo launched an effort to cover up the Selecao’s awful display.

Rodrygo had flashes of brilliance, but Brazil’s 1-1 draw with the USMNT in a Copa America warm-up friendly was disappointing.

 

The Real Madrid player covered for the careless play around him, which was especially evident while Endrick was warming up as the Selecao’s lone goal scorer.

Yunus Musah’s attempt went over the bar after five minutes, giving the USMNT their best chance of the game right away. However, the scoring was initiated by Rodrygo’s effort into the lower corner behind the defence of the home team.

For the USMNT, though, Christian Pulisic answered with a crisp free kick that reached the bottom corner. Brazil’s output rose after the pause. Rodrygo’s bicycle kick attempt went wide of the post. Endrick raced towards goal and came dangerously close to scoring just seconds after he entered the game. With ten metres remaining, Pulisic had a chance to make it 2-1, but his effort went straight at the goalie.

Not long afterward, Rodrygo punched his man again, and Turner kept him from receiving a just reply. And the visitors had to settle for a slightly disappointing draw in their final Copa America warm-up match as the USMNT held out Brazil under extreme pressure.
