SWEET GIFT: Andy Reid thanks Taylor Swift for making her own pop tarts for the Kansas City Chiefs

As it turns out, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and Taylor Swift go way back. According to the three-time Super Bowl-winning shot-caller, he met the pop princess when she was still young, and Reid also knows both of Swift’s parents.

This is exactly why Reid had a good idea of what Chiefs star Travis Kelce was getting himself into when he started dating Taylor.

In a recent interview, Reid shared his honest thoughts about Swift. The 65-year-old had nothing but good things to say about Taylor, as well as her genuine love for the game.

Coach Reid then shared a story about how Swift endeared herself with Kelce’s teammates. Apparently, not only is the Grammy Award-winning singer one of, if not the most popular woman in the world today, but she’s also pretty awesome in the kitchen.

They always say that the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. As for Taylor, it seems that the best way to Kelce’s teammates’ hearts is through pop-tarts:

“She sincerely enjoys the game,” Reid said.

“Kind of behind the scenes, she likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen these homemade pop-tarts. So it was over. She knew right where to go.”

The “Cruel Summer” singer knew the way to surprise and delight boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates was to put her baking skills to good use. So, during the NFL season, the pop star whipped up some pop tarts as a treat for the football players.

What an epic move by Taylor, right?

The problem, however, is that she forgot to bake some for Coach Reid:

“No, she didn’t give me one, and the offensive linemen definitely didn’t give me one,” Reid said when asked if he got a taste of the pop-tarts.

And although Reid unfortunately didn’t get one of the treats—joking that the offensive linemen “definitely” didn’t save him a bite—he appreciated that it was a way for Swift to try and “fit in” with the team.

It wasn’t the first time that Swift — whose love of baking is legendary — has traded a gown shaped like a pastry for actual pastries for Kelce. The 34-year-old even baked some cinnamon rolls for one of the tight end’s pregame parties in October.

And perhaps Swift’s baked goods were just what the Chiefs needed to help cinch their 2024 Super Bowl victory.

I’m pretty sure Taylor will be more than willing to bake a whole dozen pop-tarts for Reid once she catches wind of all this.
