After a difficult few weeks for the Diaz family, Reds’ No. 7 was reunited with his father in heartwarming photos that were made public on Tuesday. Prior to Colombia’s World Cup qualifying later this month, Diaz made his first trip back to his home nation.

For the first time since the ordeal, the couple hugged in Barranquilla, and Diaz’s father was clearly moved.

Tuesday night, Diaz posted on Instagram, saying, “Thank you God for allowing us to be together as a family.”
