On Sunday night, Real Madrid played Sevilla in La Liga and won thanks to a late goal from the famous midfielder Luka Modrić.
As usual, the game between two of Spain’s biggest football teams was very close. But, as is so often the case, the league winners won thanks to some amazing individual play.
Even though the game itself was fun, one of the most interesting things about it was seeing Sergio Ramos again at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The famous No. 4 player came back to Sevilla after playing for PSG for a few years. He had made a name for himself as the GOAT center back in Madrid. He started his journey with Sevilla and then moved on to Madrid.
Madrid fans gave Ramos a big welcome back because that’s what the club had planned. But the most beautiful thing was when he traded jerseys with Luka Modrić, who used to play for the same team.
When Modrić and Ramos played together for Real Madrid, they were best friends. They scored the unforgettable 92:48 goal that saved Real Madrid and paved the way to La Décima and three (well, four) more Champions League wins.
This is what football is all about the pure times. There is nothing better than seeing two of the best athletes of all time share a moment of friendship, respect, and love.
Though football can be a cold game, the spirit of the game lives on in the players, the fans, and the memories that are made.
Every Real Madrid fan remembered the great moments Modrić and Ramos created together as they helped win four Champions Leagues. The 92:48 goal is one of the most memorable goals in football history, not just Madrid’s history.
For Madrid fans, the fact that Ramos blocked a goal and Modrić scored the game-winning goal may have made the return match and moment even more special. They still have it after all these years.
