Rasmus Hojlund has resumed scoring goals for Manchester United after a back ailment postponed his debut.
After a protracted hunt for a new striker, the 20-year-old Danish international joined Old Trafford from Italian club Atalanta for an initial reported £64 million transfer fee as the largest signing of the summer for Erik ten Hag’s team.
Hojlund scored his first goal for United during the dramatic 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich in the midweek Champions League group stage match at the Allianz Arena.
The striker believed he had scored his first United goal in the team’s defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion as well, but VAR chalked it off after the ball had left his foot. It indicates that Hojlund has yet to score at Old Trafford.
The striker’s most recent appearance for United was in the Premier League triumph over Burnley at Turf Moor, which Ten Hag’s team won 1-0 thanks to captain Bruno Fernandes’ exquisite volley just before halftime.
Hojlund’s back ailment kept him out for approximately a month after signing with United, delaying his debut until the team’s 3-1 away loss to Arsenal at the beginning of September. However, he is now well enough to start games for United.
The forward completed a full 90 minutes for United for the first time since joining when he played the entire victory over the Clarets.
Hojlund demonstrated his efforts to prevent a recurrence of the injury that delayed his United debut by giving his game shirt to one of the United away team’s traveling supporters after the victory.
The striker was seen sporting tape, which is frequently used by athletes to support their muscles, on his back.
On Hojlund’s back, there was also an undeniable indication that cupping therapy had been performed, as evidenced by the markings that were left behind.
The method, which has been around for a while, works by increasing blood flow to the portion of the body that is in pain.
Just goes to show how Hojlund is trying to stay in the greatest shape possible.
