Marcus Rashford scored an amazing goal by himself in the Carabao Cup, which made fans swear he is “back” to his old self.
Rashford, who is 26 years old, was the best player for United in Erik ten Hag’s first season as boss. He scored 30 goals and set up 11 others in 56 games.
However, the forward wasn’t able to keep up his amazing goal-scoring form last season, as he only scored eight goals and set up six others in 43 games.
After seeing the Red Devils beat Barnsley in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford, fans began to believe in them again.
It was the England player’s second goal in as many days. He scored an amazing opening goal.
And Rashford did it in style. Alejandro Garnacho sent a beautiful long ball to Rashford, who picked it up with a smooth touch and floated it past Barnsley defender Marc Roberts like he wasn’t there.
The star player for United then beat Gabriel Slonina, who was on loan from Chelsea, with a great shot that went top right corner after only 16 minutes.
Then, fans of the Red Devils took to social media to praise the player’s supposed comeback.
A friend wrote on Twitter, “Rashford is back!”
Someone said: “Rashford has brought my joy back, no other player when they score has me on cloud 9 like Rashford.”
“Rashford’s confidence is coming back,” wrote a third.
Someone said, “I’m sure to tell you Rashford is back.”
“If Rashford clicks in consistency, then Man United is back,” that one said.
