Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes both started together against Slovakia in the EURO 2024 away qualifier. The final score was 1-0 in favor of coach Roberto Martinez and his team.

If Bruno was Portugal’s hero when he scored the only goal, Ronaldo left a bad image because he almost received a red card after a dangerous dispute with Martin Dubravka. Ronaldo was lucky to only receive a yellow card, but that punishment means CR7 will miss the next match against Luxembourg on September 12 because of suspension.
