When Real Madrid signed Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler this summer, they did so with the long term in mind.
The first player has had a great start to his time in Madrid, hitting ten goals in his first eleven games for the club. But things have not gone so well for the Turkish sensation.
A never-ending circle of harm
It was a big setback for Guler in the off-season when he was told he had torn his meniscus while training.
While Los Blancos tried non-surgical treatments first, they were soon forced to go with surgery instead. Just when it looked like he had recovered from his fitness setback, he took a blow to the muscle that ruined his start again.
AS says that the date for Guler’s official first game with Real Madrid has finally been set. After all, he’s been working with the group for more than a week, and the bosses are just waiting for his body to be 100%.
Now that he’s almost fully recovered, he should be ready to play against Rayo Vallecano on November 5 if everything goes as planned. In that case, his first game would be at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The story clearly states that the player will not be playing in El Clasico because the team’s management wants to be extra careful with his fragile fitness. He is also not in the team that will play Braga this coming Wednesday.
Lots of hope
Because he just moved to Spain in the summer, Guler has been in the news all the time, which makes sense. He did sign with Real Madrid after almost agreeing to terms with Barcelona, which made people even more excited about his skills.
Since the player moved to Madrid, Luka Modric has called him his son, and Toni Kroos has taken the player under his wing in training as well. Fans of the Turkish wizard can’t wait for his start; they expect nothing but pure magic from him.
Last season, the 18-year-old played 20 times for Fenerbahce in the Super Lig and scored four goals and set up three others. Also, he made seven big plays for the team and made two important passes every game.
