As usual, the game between two of Spain’s best football teams was very close. But, as is occasionally the case, the league winners prevailed thanks to some superb individual brilliance.

One of the delights of the game, despite its entertainment value, was witnessing Sergio Ramos play at the Santiago Bernabéu again.

The well-known No. 4 player left PSG for a few years before making his way back to Sevilla. He had made a name for himself as history’s best centre back in Madrid. He left Sevilla and proceeded to travel to Madrid.

The Madrid faithful enthusiastically welcomed Ramos back because it was the team’s initial goal. The most amazing thing, though, was when he traded jerseys with Luka Modrić, his old colleague.

Modric: “Sergio Ramos ha hecho un partidazo”
The spirit of football is carried on by the players, the fans, and the memories made, despite the fact that it can be a cold sport.

Every Real Madrid fan remembered the fantastic times that Modrić and Ramos had together while helping the team win four titles in the Champions League. The 92:48 goal is among the most memorable in football history—not just in Madrid’s history.

The fact that Ramos stopped a shot and Modrić scored the game-winning goal might have given the rematch and occasion even more special significance for Madrid supporters. They still have it after all these years.
