Barcelona had to change their plans for the winter transfer window because they needed to replace the injured Gavi. There are a lot of players on the shortlist already, but a story from SPORT says that Xavi’s top choice is Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso.

We should note that the player is currently under contract with Spurs until 2025. However, coach Ange Postecoglou does not plan to use him this season.

Barcelona has been interested in the Argentine player for a while now, and now that he doesn’t play much in London, it looks like Barcelona will be able to sign him.

Lo Celso has only been in four games so far, so he hasn’t played a big part.

In these games, he played three times in the Premier League for a total of 38 minutes and once in the EFL Cup for 45 minutes.

People are interested in players like Dani Parejo, Guido Rodrigues, and Thiago Alcantara. However, it’s important to remember that Lo Celso was almost loaned to Barcelona in the summer when the team failed to sign Bernardo Silva.

Argentine has the flexible skills Xavi is looking for in this job, and he also seems open to a change of scenery. 

Although he has a smaller role at Tottenham right now, he would love to go back to La Liga, a game he already knows well. He played for Real Betis in the 2018–19 season and for Villarreal in the second half of the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons.

Based on his character, Xavi is sure that the 27-year-old would make a bigger difference than any other player on the list. If there is movement, a loan offer is likely to be made.
