Reports say that Manchester United and Everton have agreed to terms for centre back Jarrad Branthwaite.

The 21-year-old Toffees defender had a great season at Goodison Park, so good that Gareth Southgate called him up to his provisional team for Euro 2024.

But he didn’t make the final tournament team, so he is said to have signed with Manchester United. However, United and Everton have not yet agreed on a transfer fee.

The Times says that the club from Merseyside is still demanding £70 million.

And SunSport has learned that Everton will not let the 6ft4in back leave if they do buy the team.

But when Branthwaite came to Old Trafford, he would be the first player the club had signed since co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe bought his share.

The defender is being chased by Manchester United. This news comes just 24 hours after it was announced that boss Erik ten Hag will stay.

He is said to be making between £150,000 and £160,000 a week thanks to the personal terms he agreed to with Branthwaite.

Ten Hag had a lot of problems with his centre backs getting hurt during the 2023–24 season.

Man Utd Stunned by Everton's Asking Price for Star Defender

During the season, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Willy Kambwala, and Luke Shaw all had problems.

Because of the problem with choosing players, Manchester United had to play Casemiro at centre back, where he got a lot of bad reviews.

Varane has already left the club, and Evans’ future is still unknown.

The club’s finances are still bad, and they might have to sell more players this summer to get money.

Even though they lost eight points this season, they still barely escaped relegation under Sean Dyche.
