This season, Jude Bellingham scores goals on EVERYTHING he does.
The England star has had a great start to life in La Liga since moving from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid for £115 million in the summer. He was a big hit right away at Santiago Bernabeu and may have become Carlo Ancelotti’s most important player right away.
He took charge of his first El Clasico match today, coming back from behind by one goal to help his team win away from home.
In the sixth minute, Ilkay Gundogan scored a goal for Barcelona when Real Madrid’s defense was weak and he slipped the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Soon after, Barça had a chance to double their lead but only hit the post. Bellingham took charge in the second half.
Twenty-year-old hit a rocket into the back of the net from only 25 yards out in the 68th minute.
Then, two minutes into extra time, he had another magical moment when he poked a close-range shot past Kepa to win the game.
The star from Stourbridge celebrated by raising his arms high while being surrounded by Joselu and Antonio Rudiger, a move that has become his signature. In as many La Liga games, Bellingham has scored ten goals.
That’s better than any goal he scored for Birmingham or Borussia Dortmund last season.
Also, the great Zinedine Zidane, who used to wear Bellingham’s No. 5 shirt at Real Madrid, never scored more in a season.
Zidane scored nine goals in La Liga, the most in a single season. This happened in 2002–03 and 2005–06.
Bellingham has scored 13 goals and set up three more in 13 Real Madrid games, including the Champions League.
He also scored a goal and set up another in England’s 3-1 win over Scotland and then set up two more in their 3-1 win over Italy.
He made 45 of his 49 passes in today’s game, which was his first Clasico.
He also scored with both of the two shots he had in the game.
He touched the ball 73 times in all, mostly on the left side of Real Madrid’s middle.Ancelotti went on and on about his star player after the game, even saying that he would score a lot of goals by the end of the season.
“He’s very likely to score 20 to 25 goals,” the Italian said.
“It’s not important to us that he scores goals or is a striker.” He’s scoring, but we need to score too.
“Bellingham is very good at what he does. He’s got a great attitude. We didn’t want a tie, and his equalizer changed the way the game was played.
“From then on we had more strength and more energy and they started to show more weakness; until that moment they had been the better side.”
Vinicius Jr., the player who plays with Bellingham, said, “Jude Bellingham is amazing; he always makes a difference. The fans got used to Cristiano Ronaldo, and now we have another one.”
On the other hand, Luka Modric told DAZN, “He’s a top boy with phenomenal talent.” He scores so many goals that I don’t think he can believe it…
“I congratulate him and I hope he keeps going, he can’t slow down!”With this last-second win, Real Madrid now has a four-point lead over Barcelona at the top of La Liga.
The team that Xavi led to victory last season is in third place, four points behind Real Madrid and only behind them on goal difference.
