Fans of Manchester United have asked David de Gea to come back after he met up with an old teammate.
In his search for a new team, the goalkeeper stood for a picture with Bruno Fernandes.
It’s been a while since De Gea had a job since his contract with Manchester United ended in the summer
In the past few weeks, he’s been teasing fans about a possible return. Earlier this month, he even went back to United to watch the women’s team play.
After moving out of Spain, the player came back to the city to clean up. While he was there, he met up with current Red Devil Sergio Reguilon.
After De Gea posted a picture with Fernandes, fans are once again calling for him to come back.
In a post on X, which used to be Twitter, De Gea and Fernandes stood in the colors of their eSports team, Rebels Gaming.
The team was started by De Gea in 2021. Fernandes and Juan Mata later became owners.
Along with the picture, De Gea wrote, “Together again.”
Supporters quickly asked for him to come back. One said, “Get back to the team.” We have a lot of problems to solve.
This person also said, “Manchester United needs you, bro.”
Another fan wrote, “Bring him back.”
He also posted a picture of the two of them meeting up on Instagram with Tom Heaton, Raphael Varane, and Victor Lindelof, who are all on the same team.
“Brothers” was all De Gea had to say in the notes to show his love.
De Gea hasn’t been able to find a new team since leaving United, and he’s apparently even thought about retiring at 32 years old.
During his 12 years at Old Trafford, he played 545 times and won eight big awards, including the league title and the Europa League.
