The South American forward scored twice at the Allianz Arena, and he was once again at his best in the last few games of the European season.
While Jude Bellingham was quiet, Vinicius Jr. shone. The Real Madrid winger scored twice to make up for his teammate’s bad game up front. This helped Los Blancos come back to tie Bayern Munich 2-2 in the first leg of the Champions League.
Madrid wasn’t really in the game when they took the lead in the middle of the first half. Toni Kroos scored the goal; his pass split the defense and found Vinicius, who scored first time past Manuel Neuer, who was out of position. Kroos almost scored a second goal after halftime, but Neuer kept up his nice shooting effort.
But Bayern fought back, and Leroy Sane tied the game by slamming home at the near post. Then, after Jamal Musiala was tripped in the box, Harry Kane gave them the lead by scoring from the penalty spot.
Vinicius, on the other hand, scored his own penalty after Kim Min-jae brought down Rodrygo with some nice dancing. Spain’s Madrid wasn’t playing at their best, but they still found a way to win in the Champions League. They will feel like everything is set up perfectly for the second game.
