Football star Mason Mount of Manchester United went to a children’s hospital in Surrey to make kids happy.
The player became a supporter of Together for Short Lives back in
Mount spent an afternoon with seriously sick children and their families at Christopher’s Children’s Hospice in Guildford. It was his first visit to a hospice since becoming a patron.
I really want to bring attention to the lifeline care that Together for Short Lives and children’s hospices like Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provide to seriously sick children and their families, so that all families who need it can get it.
“It was wonderful to meet the kids today and see for myself that children’s hospices are happy, warm places where people laugh and smile.”
A group in the UK called Together for Short Lives helps families of children who are very sick make the most of the time they have together.
The group helps the 54 children’s hospices in the UK, like Christopher’s, which is part of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, by raising money and publicity.
Andy Fletcher, CEO of Together for Short Lives, said, “We are so glad Mason was able to meet some of the wonderful kids and families we help and see for himself what important care children’s hospices provide.”
“His work to raise awareness is priceless because it helps more families who are taking care of a seriously ill child get the help they need to enjoy their time together.”
