As a captain of Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes got another assist when he helped a sick passenger on an easyJet trip to Lisbon.
On Monday, the Portuguese football player was on a flight from Manchester to Lisbon with teammate Diogo Dalot when he saw a man passing out in the back of the plane.
Fernandes yelled for help urgently: “Excuse me!” We need your help! Please excuse me! We need your help!”
Suzann Lawson, a passenger, told Business Cloud that Bruno went to the bathroom in the back of the plane during the trip.
“All of a sudden, we heard a call for help, and everyone in earshot, including us since we were in the back, turned around.”
People on the team ran to the back to help. Bruno helped the man sit down on an empty seat in the back.
“He stayed with them in the back and ensured he was okay.”
‘It must have been between 5 and 10 minutes. After that, he went back to his seat in a very quiet way. He wasn’t trying to get attention for himself.
People say that Fernandes and Dalot kept a low profile on the trip because they are preparing to play for Portugal against Poland on Friday.
But he has gotten a lot of praise for helping his fellow traveler who was in trouble.
Lawson was with a group going to Web Summit, where Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada will talk on Tuesday. “When I politely asked him for a selfie as we were getting off the plane, he was absolutely lovely and took the selfie himself,” Lawson said.
I told him he did a great job taking care of the sick customer. If you didn’t know who he was, you might have thought he was just another traveler.
Fernandes has had a very busy week. On Sunday, he played in his 250th game for Manchester United, and on Monday, he was honored at the Quinas De Ouro awards.
