Tonight, Arda Güler, a young player for Real Madrid, sent a message to Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach.
As much came from his late appearance in Real’s game against LOSC Lille.
Real Madrid got back to action not long ago by going to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy for a Champions League match.
After everything was said and done, the Spanish champs lost 1-0 because Jonathan David scored the only goal.
Real hadn’t lost in any competition in over 250 days, which goes all the way back to last season.
What went wrong then?
Los Merengues didn’t look their best for most of the 90 minutes tonight. They were weak in creativity in the final third for the majority of the game.
A lot of things changed for the better, though, when Arda Güler came on the scene.
When he came on for the last 20 or so minutes in Lille, Turkish international Güler gave the away team some much-needed skill, creating a number of clear chances to score before coming close with his own shot in injury time.
On Wednesday, Real Madrid really needed a player like that to make a difference. Their 19-year-old midfield star sent manager Ancelotti and his coaching staff another message: he is ready to help his teammates when things get tough and they need him the most.
