Manchester United played their first game since Erik ten Hag left earlier this week. They came out strong in the fourth-round match against Leicester City, scoring five goals to beat Cook’s team.

Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Alejandro Garnacho scored twice for the home team. Bilal El-Khannouss and Conor Coady scored for the away team in the first half.

But in his first game as interim boss of Man United, Van Nistelrooy was stunned by the goal scored by his defensive midfielder.

Since he moved from Real Madrid to Manchester United two summers ago, Casemiro’s image in the game has gone downhill. But against Leicester, he showed everyone what a world-class player he is.

A quarter of an hour into the game, Garnacho took the ball down the left side of the field, checked inside, and played a pass to Fernandes. The Portugal star, however, stepped over the ball and let it run.

It went right into Casemiro’s path, and the midfielder didn’t miss the chance. He took a touch off of his feet and sent a beautiful curling shot straight into the top right corner of the goal.

Casemiro quickly ran over to the fans to enjoy his amazing performance, and soon his teammates joined him.

Van Nistelrooy may be better known for finishing inside the box, but no one knows more about getting goals than him. He looked shocked from the sidelines.

He had a huge smile on his face and pumped his arms several times to show his happiness.

His team scored five goals in his first game as acting manager, which was the best night the former United and Real Madrid striker could have asked for.

After a great game at Old Trafford, United will go to north London to play Tottenham. They have a chance to make it to the last four of the competition and maybe even win their second Carabao Cup in three years.

Even though his team played very well, he probably won’t stay in charge for a long time because the club is in talks with Sporting about famous boss Ruben Amorim.

Talks are still centered on the Portuguese manager’s notice time, which is said to be weeks instead of days. This is why it was said that he wouldn’t be able to take over until after the international break.

News sources say that United would have to pay almost £13 million to get Amorim and his coaching team.
