The goal that Manchester United scored in the second half was almost trumped by a shocking event.
As the players applauded in the corner of Bramall Lane, a plastic chair was about to hit them. Diogo Dalot’s amazing long-range goal in the 77th minute gave the Red Devils all three points
Fans were shocked when they saw the flying chair heading for the Manchester United team while everyone else was celebrating.
“Somebody threw a chair at the end there!” one fan wrote on social media.
Someone else asked, “Did someone try to throw a chair at them?”Someone else said, “Dalot’s screamer goal will be remembered, but so will the chair.” This person thought it was a Sheffield United fan who threw the chair onto the field. The fans in Sheffield were not cool.
Another person said, “I know it’s been a frustrating season for Sheffield United, but it’s just rude for a fan to throw his chair at the field in disgust.”
There is no clear evidence in the video of the event of who threw the plastic chair.
Other strange things happened at last night’s game as well. Fans saw one fan walk out onto the field to challenge Bruno Fernandes and the rest of the team. United has now won three points in the Premier League five times this season. They built on their win over Brentford before the break for the international break.
Before Dalot’s late winner, it was all about Scott McTominay. The Scottish defender scored the first goal for Manchester United but then turned into a villain within minutes.
A cross came in and hit McTominay’s outstretched arm in the area. Referee Michael Oliver gave The Blades a penalty.
Oli McBurnie stepped up and boldly put his penalty kick past Andre Onana and into the top corner, blocking McTominay’s goal.
