Jude Bellingham has revealed Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti joked he’d signed the wrong brother after Jobe Bellingham scored a brace.
Consequently, what happened?
When Sunderland played Rotherham United in the Championship in August 2023, the older Bellingham brother was watching Jobe from a distance. To Bellingham’s pleasure, Jobe scored a superb brace to assist the Black Cats win 2-1. That happiness, though, was short-lived as Ancelotti revealed to him that he intended to play Jobe in Bellingham’s place in addition to signing him.

Nevertheless, he has been observed practicing this week, and on Saturday he might play again against Real Sociedad.
Speaking on the first episode of his ‘Out of the Floodlights’ documentary, Bellingham said: “I’m in shock that he’s scored twice and then I’ll never forget as we’re coming out Ancelotti goes to me, ‘f*cking hell, we brought the wrong one.’ And I’m like, ‘you’re joking.’ He says, ‘no seriously, I’m going to bring him in.’ I said, ‘well where are you going to play him?’ He says, ‘in your position.’ I was like, ‘f*ck that!’ And then finally he gave me a little smirk and my heart just dropped and I thought okay, fine. And then I’m like, no pressure for today!”
Pressure? What pressure? Later that day, Bellingham would grab a brace of his own in Los Blancos’ 3-1 win against Almeria. A fine response to Ancelotti’s jibe, then.
