Getafe FC will consider buying the goalscorer, The Athletic reports, after impressing with the team with four goals in 13 matches.

The Athletic also reported that Getafe do not expect Greenwood to return to United at all – providing a major clue as to the forward’s future.

The Madrid side also reportedly have a 20 per cent sell-on clause in his season-long loan contract if the striker were to move elsewhere.

Speaking to Cadena SER, Corres revealed on Tuesday: “With Greenwood, we are not only planning on him staying another year, but we also want to buy him.”

Real Sociedad, Valencia, Lazio, and other European teams are rumored to be interested in the 22-year-old, though.

According to Italian media, the English striker’s owner, Lazio, is “obsessed” with him and has not ruled out making an offer in January.

According to Lazio news website La Lazio Siamo Noi, despite a summer transfer falling through, the Serie A team’s manager still harbors affections for Greenwood.
