In the past few days, there has been a lot of talk about what Real Madrid might do during the winter transfer window. Following David Alaba’s ACL injury, Carlo Ancelotti now only has Antonio Rudiger and Nacho Fernandez as starting center-backs. This could be fixed.
The club wants to sign the right-center defender in January, but Ancelotti wants to do it himself. It’s possible that Raphael Varane, a well-known figure, is being tracked.
Bild (via MD) says that Real Madrid is thinking about signing Varane in the winter. In 2021, the 30-year-old player moved from Real Madrid to Manchester United. He was a key player at Old Trafford for a while, but recently he has had trouble getting regular playing time.
Varane would probably come on loan if he were to join, but Man United have their defender injury problems, so it’s still unclear if they will let this happen. Real Madrid will keep an eye on things for now.
