Ruben Amorim put Godwill Kukonki in his first traveling group, which makes it look like he will play for Manchester United’s first team one day.
Today is the first game the Portuguese manager has in charge of the club. His team will play Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
A lot of United fans around the world are interested in seeing Amorim’s first team.
Some people were surprised that Amorim brought along Kukonki, a youngster, even if it was only to watch the first team play without playing.
Anyone know who the teenager is that Old Trafford fans are talking about right now?
SunSport is there to talk about the young star, who many people think will do well at the club.
The Kukonki has been at Manchester United for how long?
The goalkeeper, who is 16 years old and was born in Stoke On Trent, joined United when he was only five years old after their scouts found him.
He’s always been on the club’s youth teams, but lately his huge size has made him stand out.
The huge Kukonki is now 6 feet 5 inches tall and doesn’t seem to be slowing down on his growth.
He’s been very successful over the years, but it’s not just because of how well-built he is.
How has Kukonki been doing so far?
During his time at the club, the left-sided center back has played defense better than his years.
They have been a big part of his recent move up to the club’s Under-18s team.
This season, Kukonki has really stepped up to the task, showing great skills on and off the ball in addition to his physical strengths.
Many people have praised his ability to play out from the back in particular.
As of now, Kukonki has played nine times for United’s Under-18 team this season and has scored one goal and set up another.
Amorim must have heard about how well he played because he made the brave choice to include him in today’s matchday team.
What did Kukonki say?
It’s not a surprise that Kukonki hasn’t done any interviews yet.
He has, however, written about his short time playing for United on his Instagram account, which only has four posts.
He posted a bunch of pictures from his first game in the Uefa Youth League at the end of last month. It was against ZK Zalgiris from Lithuania.
He put a praying hands emoji next to the word “UYL debut.”
He will definitely post a picture like this when he plays for the first team for the first time.
