In order to help Liverpool break their midday losing streak with yet another thrilling comeback victory, Mohamed Salah provided a hat-trick of assists.
Following Wolves’ early goal from Hwang Hee-Chan, Salah, who was heavily linked with a transfer to Saudi Arabia during the transfer window, used a deflection to set up goals for Cody Gakpo, interim captain Andy Robertson, and Harvey Elliott in the second half. This extended their unbeaten league streak to 16 games, dating back to April.
Jurgen Klopp would have been pleased with the attitude of his team after a terrible start to the game, especially considering the absences of Virgi van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as the fact that four members of his squad had only just returned to training on Friday after competing in World Cup qualifiers in South America.
They have come back this season against Bournemouth and Newcastle with just 10 men, and Saturday’s victory at Molineux was a change from last season, when they lost all six of their games that got underway at 12.30 p.m.
Wolves got off to a strong start against a new Liverpool lineup, and they were rewarded just seven minutes.

When home dominance paid off, debutant Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who was bought on deadline day from Strasbourg, had already sparked fear and Alexis Mac Allister had been penalised for fouling Matheus Cunha.
On his first Premier League start, Pedro Neto advanced to the byline and fizzed a cross past Liverpool No. 78 Jarell Quansah.
It didn’t take a beep from the referee’s watch to alert the crowd that Hwang-Hee Chan’s sidefoot at the far post had crossed the line, even if Alisson managed to keep the ball out of the goal.
Hwang’s third league goal in as many games matched his total from the whole previous campaign, and Neto’s fourth assist underscored his outstanding play.
The tempo of Wolves’ play left Liverpool looking shell-shocked, and it appeared as though Klopp’s pre-game criticism of the kickoff time may have come true.
When Neto cut inside and missed wide, the visitors were relieved they had avoided another defeat. He faced off against Joe Gomez, who was having trouble as Alexander-Arnold’s deputy.
Diogo Jota, who was booed by the Molineux faithful upon his return, and Mac Allister both made disapproving gestures at the lack of movement around them, which raised concerns about Liverpool’s body language.
Even yet, a solid end to the first period made Klopp’s halftime team speech easy.
Gakpo missed two chances, while Salah almost profited on a shaky punch by Sa as Michael Oliver was ready to call timeout. Mario Lemina tripped over the ball face-up to block the Egyptian’s attempt, and Sa stopped Dominik Szoboszlai from converting the rebound.
Andy Robertson (center), who drove into the Wolves penalty area and scored with his left foot, gave Liverpool the lead.

Despite falling early, Liverpool has now gone 16 games without a loss in the league dating back to April.
