Manchester United got back to winning ways on Saturday when they beat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils had not won in five games coming into the game, and Ethan Pinnock’s goal from a corner at the end of the first half was a letdown.
But after the break, there was a great reaction. Soon after the game started again, Alejandro Garnacho scored, and then Rasmus Hojlund scored the important goal that won it.
Kobbie Mainoo wasn’t able to play, so Casemiro started in the middle of the field. He got off to a slow start against the Bees, but he got stronger as the game went on.
In the end, the Brazilian won all of his flying battles with Thomas Frank’s team. He also won all of his dribbles and made four stops and recovered six balls.
Even though he played well, he probably won’t be playing against Fenerbahce next week. The match between United and the Turkish team is in the Europa League on Thursday.
In the last few minutes of the game, the 32-year-old player hurt his leg. He asked to be taken off, and Manuel Ugarte came on for the last 10 minutes.
United manager Erik ten Hag didn’t give a clear update on Casemiro’s position. However, the club should make a statement in the next few days to confirm what’s going on.
Now ranked 11th, the Red Devils have moved up after their win. After eight games, they are still six points behind the teams in the Champions League spots.
