Worrying scenes for Real Madrid as David Alaba was forced off the field early against Villarreal added to Carlo Ancelotti’s defensive troubles

Real Madrid played Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu to go to the top of the table and put pressure on Girona, who will play Deportivo Alaves at home tomorrow.

As a starting eleven, Carlo Ancelotti chose his best players. Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo led the way, with David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger in the back.

Bellingham scored the first goal 25 minutes in with a great header after Luka Modric made a great pass. But after ten minutes, David Alaba fell and grabbed his knee. He had to be taken off and Nacho had to come on.

In this half, Ferland Mendy also got hurt, and Fran Garcia came on to replace him at halftime.

It has been said by Jose Luis Sanchez in Madrid that Alaba’s injury is very bad and that the player could be out for a long time. It looks like he hurt his internal lateral tendon. He will have tests tonight or in the morning tomorrow.

Mendy, on the other hand, will have tests tomorrow. It was good that the player was able to make it through the first half without too many problems.

Since Eder Militao won’t be back until the end of the season, Alaba’s injury is a huge setback for Madrid, who are currently tied with Girona for the title. Mendy’s injury shouldn’t be too bad, though, because Fran Garcia is in great shape and has already set up four goals in La Liga.
