Barcelona had to change their plans for the winter transfer window because Gavi got hurt and they needed to find a replacement. There are already a lot of players on the lists, but SPORT reports that Giovani Lo Celso of Tottenham is Xavi’s first choice.

It’s important to remember that the player is currently signed with Spurs until 2025. But Ange Postecoglou, the boss, doesn’t plan to use him this season.

Barcelona has been interested in the Argentine player for a while. Since he doesn’t play much in London right now, it looks like they can sign him.

Lo Celso has only played in four games so far, so he hasn’t done much.

Three times in the Premier League, he played for 38 minutes each time, and once in the EFL Cup, he played for 45 minutes.

Dani Parejo, Guido Rodrigues, and Thiago Alcantara are some of the players that people are interested in. But it’s important to remember that Barcelona almost sent Lo Celso on loan in the summer when they failed to sign Bernardo Silva.

The Argentine person has the adaptable skills that Xavi wants in this job, and he also seems willing to try something new. 

He would love to play in La Liga again, even though his part at Tottenham isn’t as big as it used to be. In the 2018–19 season, he played for Real Betis. In the second half of the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons, he played for Villarreal.

From what Xavi knows about the 27-year-old, he would make a bigger difference than any other player on the list. If things move, it’s likely that a loan offer will be made.
