Ever since he moved to Barcelona, Vitor Roque hasn’t played much, and head coach Xavi has told the forward to improve.

Roque came to Catalonia with a lot of attention on him and his skills after leaving Athletico Paranense for an estimated €35 million (£30 million/$38 million) fee plus add-ons. The Brazilian, on the other hand, hasn’t played much under Xavi. The World Cup winner said that the 19-year-old has a lot to learn before he can start playing regularly for Barcelona.

“He is a player who gives us a lot even though he does not participate,” Xavi told the press. He will play against Cadiz because we think he is a good football player and he deserves it.

Roque is likely to play this weekend when Barcelona plays Cadiz on April 14. Lewandowski’s second game in the Champions League quarterfinal against Paris Saint-Germain is on Tuesday, April 16, so Xavi may rest him.
